Osteoporosis is a disease of bone disintegration occurring when the components for bone maintenance don't occur in the diet or are not used by the body. It's what happened to grandma, that pathetic old woman bent over double in a wheelchair with the Quasimodoian hump in her ruined back. It is what Sally Field, new front-woman for Boniva®, is trying to avoid, herself, presumably...

Why do we spend all year long working out to look good on the beach, only to sabotage ourselves with cocktails? The answer is that's it's fun and social, and it even makes us feel a little bit better about being scantily clad.
Thanks to the dozens of different diet crazes, we are all abundantly aware of carbs, protein, and fat, and we all have different opinions on which is the most evil. But we forget that alcohol has calories too, specifically 7 calories per gram—more than carbs or…

As our lives have become more complicated we are looking to simplify them. Simple means many things and it helps your product or service sell! Ever look at ingredients at the grocery store? Short list = better for you = a sale. Simple sells just by adding the word SIMPLE to the packaging. Simple, Fast, Easy. Nobody wants to fight to learn something if they can choose something simple. Adding "Simple set up!" to a product package will inspire people to choose software or equipment over a…

There is a gentleman by the name of Ray Darby. He recently opened up a rescue (collaborating with me) in Palm Beach County. He is a disabled veteran who had time on his hands and love for ferrets.
Just this past week, he was diagnosed with esophageal and stomach cancer. He will begin chemo and radiation immediately. He has 21 adoptable ferrets and 4 unadoptable. He and his fiance will be keeping the four.

This recipe from Scott Nuss's Eat for Health beginner class is a delicious raw tomato sauce loaded with vitamins and nutrients that is so simple and quick to make. As long as you remember to soak the sun-dried tomatoes and dates ahead of time, this recipe can be made in five minutes. The bitterness of the tomatoes is balanced by the dates. Use it anywhere you would use tomato sauce.

Cheese ravioli with pomodoro sauce, meat tacos with refried beans, butternut squash soup, kale tabouleh, brownies, and apple cinnamon crumble…sounds like a feast of cooked food, doesn’t it? In actuality, all of these dishes were the menu for the Introduction to “Uncooking” class led by Chef Scott Nuss at Simon’s Coffeehouse. Amazingly, no stoves or ovens were involved in this food preparation-- nor was there any meat. The focus of this class was…

Last week, I talked about making sure your negative feelings don’t leak out on your partner. This week’s tip is about how to protect yourself so your partner’s bad day doesn’t become your bad day. When your partner is in a nasty mood, think of shielding yourself so that the negativity doesn’t penetrate you. Think to yourself: “I can comfort him or ask how I can help, but I am not going to allow his bad day to affect me. It’s his issue.” Imagine an invisible shield between you. When you practice…

It is very obvious to me that the ladies who have been following the program guidelines are definitely seeing results.
The hardest part of this challenge isn't losing weight.... the hardest part is changing your mindset.
To be successful in anything you have to believe you can do it not matter how many times you have told yourself that you can't!
Even if you have a set back you still must believe that you can achieve your goals.
