Fresh figs at the Farmers Market and the 15 year aged Balsamic Vinegar that I bought to make Michelle Donner’s delicious Spinach Proscuitto Pizza recipe inspired me to make this recipe one evening when a bout of hunger struck. (Michelle’s recipe cost me the price of a pizza stone, too – but the taste was worth the price of both purchases). The figs are simple to make, can be made in minutes and are quite delicious, if I do say so myself. It…

I have tried before but never succeeded in establishing my health and well being as the top priority. Cause marketing is a way to help a non-profit or other "[good] cause" by associating your company with that cause. There are different models that can work to your benefit.
The simplest model is to be a sponsor for the non-profit and in return the non-profit acknowledges you. I donated design work recently to a local non-profit in return for being acknowledged with my logo with other sponsors on their event T-shirts.
A second way to do this is to promote the non-profit…

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t wish for more money. Yet many of us just live month to month, with nothing left over at the end. The one sure way to have more money is to save money; it’s an important part of responsible financial management, and it is the only way to reach our financial potential.
During these difficult economic times, it’s hard to think about saving money. Most people are either worried about making money or whether…

If you are in relationship, then you are not alone. Virtually everything you do will affect your partner in one way or another. Be conscious; you are now walking the path with another human being that has feelings and sensitivities. Consider how your actions will affect your partner. Step out of your self and ask “How might what I am about to do affect my partner?” It’s not just about you anymore. It’s about the two of you.
Apply this tip…

Everyone wants their home to feel warm and inviting but we also want the room to appear larger. As a rule, I recommend mounting window treatments several inches above the window. For example, say you have an 8' ceiling height and you mount your window treatment under your crown molding or just below the ceiling, not only will the room appear larger but the ceiling height will appear taller as well. Another mistake a homeowner might make would be to add a cornice with a straight bottom and then…
