Smart Marketing

Advertising Age magazine reports that the 2010 census will illustrate that there is no such thing as the "Average American." Our country is becoming more and more diverse. Because of this "Shotgun marketing" will be less and less effective. Your message is less likely to get across to a wide variety of people with a wide variety of backgrounds and values. Targeted marketing will become more important. Think "Tribes", Social Groups and so on. It will be critical for your company to get advocates… Continue

PRODUCT REVIEW: Julie Hewett Ora Mineral Powder -- A New Love!

When I love something, I’m typically faithful in my devotion. But with things as with people, sometimes you think you have loved until something so much better comes along that you realize it wasn’t true love in the first place. That’s what happened when I tried Julie Hewett’s Ora Mineral Powder. When it comes to foundation, my allegiance used to be to Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Foundation, but now I’ve found a new love! I will be forever grateful… Continue

Hobo or Satchel

The word hobo is tossed around a lot in the world of purses and we at Handbag Heaven like a good hobo as well as the next gal, but not to the exclusion of all other styles. As far as trends go, I have to believe that when my mother-in-law tells me that she's looking for a black hobo bag, the trend has probably reached the mature phase, much like my mother-in-law.

It can be confusing to know just what is considered a hobo bag… Continue

Anger Management!

I don’t normally consider myself an angry individual however a recurrence of Alopecia Areata is testing my resilience. Eight years ago I was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis. I was completely bald for 7 years and then miraculously my hair re-appeared just in time for my son’s wedding. Go figure! I’ve enjoyed the precious follicles for over a year but Alopecia is having it’s way again - and the shedding is relentless. As anyone who has experienced hair loss will testify the emotions attached… Continue

Yes, there’s a lot of controversy out there about the kind of diet you should eat for weight loss. – Low carb, low fat or low calorie. One of the reasons low-carb and low-fat diets work is that cutting carbs and cutting fat ultimately cuts calories. RELATIONSHIP TIP OF THE WEEK: Check For Leakage

If you’ve had a bad day or if you are upset or in a bad mood for whatever reason, check to make sure it doesn’t leak out on your partner. Checking for leakage means that you acknowledge your own negative feelings and make sure that no one else has to feel the toxic energy of them. No one else should have to tip toe around you or be careful of what they talk about because you’re having a bad day. I’m willing to bet that at this very moment images… Continue

TUNE INTO YOUR OWN CHANNEL - FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF

Think you'll never look like your favorite actress? You won't.

Believe me — your favorite actress doesn't even look like your favorite actress in real life!

Face it: We're bombarded with images of ideal beauty everywhere — on television, in movies, in magazines, you name it. When we compare ourselves with these unattainable, airbrushed images of perfection, we're always going to come up short. No wonder we pick ourselves apart and get depressed!

The only way out of… Continue
