Relief for Menopause With Acupuncture and Herbs

Harmony Health Acupuncture and Herbs

Menopause ... Many women just seem to survive it.

When I run into the usual complaints - the night sweats, foggy thinking, dryness, weight gain, depression and others - I always wish they'd give acupuncture and herbs a try in helping to lighten their load.

Hot flashes is the one uncomfortable condition I hear about most often. A cup of coffee sends one woman… Continue

RELATIONSHIP TIP OF THE WEEK: The Hard Truth is a Gift

Whether you are giving it or receiving it, the hard truth is a gift. Most of us have a difficult time both giving and receiving negative feedback. However, when we care about people, one of the greatest gifts we can give them is to lovingly and respectfully tell them those things about themselves that no one else has the nerve to tell them. Conversely, it is a gift to receive that information about ourselves.

Think of all the things you… Continue

Hair Care Tip of the Week: Dandruff vs. Dry Scalp

Now and again clients will sit in my chair and express concern over white flakes that they’ve seen on their scalp and ask the question...is it dandruff? Dandruff, by definition, usually accompanies an oily scalp. Therefore, the occasional dry scalp that happens as we transition from summer into winter when the heat is turned on, is usually not reason for concern. A thorough ‘pre-shampoo’ brushing with a good boar bristol brush, should do the trick to exfoliate the dry skin that you might be… Continue

The Connection Between Humans and Animals

Do some people have connections with animals that are stronger than the ones they have with other humans?

Recently there was a segment on ABC’s 20/20. It got me thinking about this issue. I know of several people, personally, who feel they have a better connection, and get more love, from their animals than they do with other humans. Is that because of their personality? Is it because of the way they were raised? Are the animals they have are… Continue

Marketing: where to get images for your business, website or blog

I just saw an image I created did on a blog of a person who doesn't have the right to use it. My client who paid for it and I were a little bit irritated.

So, the next time someone says "Just get an image off the web" think twice. Some images are OK to use. Even pages that don't specifically say "copyright" or use the copyright symbol are likely to have content that is copyrighted. Artwork has copyright protection upon creation of the artwork. Graphics and logs are artwork. Using… Continue

Green Your Oral Hygiene

It may be uncomfortable to discuss, but it must be addressed…bad breath. To combat it good oral hygiene is extremely important and should be taken seriously. Studies have shown that the icky, nasty, inflammatory, gingivitis bacteria, if left unchecked, can leak into your bloodstream and find its way to your heart, where it could quite possibly be a contributing factor in heart disease. But many traditional oral care products contain additives and chemicals that can be harmful. Fear not, for I… Continue

Dear Coach: My Kids and I are Chubby - How do I Change our Family Eating Habits?
