We have been waiting 7 weeks and they have finally arrived

I know you are wondering what an earth I am talking about, but all will be revealed. Every day for the last 42 days we have been watching and waiting as we have returned to the boat as a pair of swans have been taking it in turns to sit on a clutch of eggs. We had no idea how many eggs the average Pen (female) swan lays but after researching the number varies between 3 and 8.

The female does most of the laying while the cob (male) goes on feeding trips to keep them both in top form.… Continue

Relationship Tip of the Week: Make a Sandwich

Remember last week, I told you to focus on the positives in your relationship and that I’d give you a way to address the negatives. Well, here it is...make a sandwich.

You’re probably saying “Yeah right, putting on calories is really going to help me deal with my imperfect husband.” But I don’t mean it literally. What I mean is to “sandwich” any negative you need to address between two positives.

Here’s an example of what a… Continue

Develop A Personal Brand

Sarasota is plethora of small business owners, and its one of the things I love about our community. But, as I meet with more and more business owners I find that they have no identity. As the owner of a graphic and web design company this is quite frustrating. We have seen a great brand take companies to the top of their game, while a company with no brand struggles to find its way.

So . . . what do I mean by brand. Your brand is everything you are. It is your mission, your customer… Continue

You and your pup are hitting the open road. The wind is flying through your hair and his fur, adventure and the smell of doggy biscuits are in the air, and you're ready for anything - well, anything except for your curious canine suddenly running through the car, jumping on your lap, hitting the steering wheel and lunging towards a tempting driver-side squirrel (or sexy… Continue

I Don't Want To Try To Be Perfect Anymore!

I have come to the realization that I do not want to be perfect or try to be perfect anymore because I am not!

This last week end a lot of things went differently than planned and a lot of weird situations were appearing!

What I saw was #1 how friends of mine were distraught because they made mistakes and then #2 to see how the people around them that were effected by the mistakes went ballistic!!!

Whatever happened to the "Nobody is perfect" attitude and forgiveness?

We… Continue

Wake Up Sister, It's Your Turn!

Women are nurturers at heart. We often spend our lives taking care of everyone else. We take care of our husband, our children, our parents, and our friends. We make sure their needs are met - that they eat nourishing food, that they get enough sleep, that their social needs are met, etc. This is a wonderful trait - women are loving and giving human beings.

However, sometimes women take care of everyone else and ignore their own needs. When this happens, it has gone too far. Should… Continue

Only the Lonely..Can Play

dog home alone.html

Okay, we know that if we were really well adjusted, mature individuals we'd be happy to spend time alone - enjoying our own company and thoughts...but after about ten minutes of alone time we quickly realize that our thoughts are mostly that we want company.

Let's face it, we're social animals and so are our pups. But while most people can entertain… Continue

Hair of the Dog

After a long, hot day there's nothing better than throwing back a few cold beers with some good friends. And if you ever thought about toasting a brew with your very best friend - I say go ahead and let your pooch get his drink on!

Okay, before you start emptying a Michelob Ultra into your pup's bowl - remember that human beers are not safe for dogs. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that your pooch has to be left out of the party!

Phoenix-based husband, wife, and… Continue
