"What is your five-year plan?"
This is a question that we often associate with career or business planning. It is commonly asked during job interviews. It is used often because the interviewee's response is informative.
Employers want to know if you have the ability, interest, and focus to voice a plan for your future. Being able to do so indicates some intelligent forethought and the desire to reach a specific goal. Too much of the…

It was a wise decision to change the name of the Suncoast Wine Fest to the Suncoast Food and Wine Fest this year. As I noted in my column last year, this festival is just as much about the food as it is the wine. The festival itself didn’t change this year other than the addition of specialty beers to further accommodate the masses. It’s just that now the name reflects what has always been true – you can easily enjoy this festival for the food alone. Next year, even if you don’t enjoy wine,…

Advertising Age magazine reports that the 2010 census will illustrate that there is no such thing as the "Average American." Our country is becoming more and more diverse. Because of this "Shotgun marketing" will be less and less effective. Your message is less likely to get across to a wide variety of people with a wide variety of backgrounds and values. Targeted marketing will become more important. Think "Tribes", Social Groups and so on. It will be critical for your company to get advocates…

When I love something, I’m typically faithful in my devotion. But with things as with people, sometimes you think you have loved until something so much better comes along that you realize it wasn’t true love in the first place. That’s what happened when I tried Julie Hewett’s Ora Mineral Powder. When it comes to foundation, my allegiance used to be to Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Foundation, but now I’ve found a new love! I will be forever grateful…

The word hobo is tossed around a lot in the world of purses and
we at Handbag Heaven like a good hobo as well as the next gal, but not to the exclusion of all other styles. As far as trends go, I have to believe that when my mother-in-law tells me that she's looking for a black hobo bag, the trend has probably reached the mature phase, much like my mother-in-law.
It can be confusing to know just
what is considered a hobo bag… Continue

Sarasota wedding season is in full swing and every weekend brings guests from near and far to our beautiful city.
I was the planner for a beautiful destination wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate last weekend. Everyone, including the bride and her family, were from New York and the bride went to great lengths to insure that all guests felt special and were properly taken care of.
The behavior of some of the guests’ was so inappropriate...they are my inspiration for this…

WARNING, MATCH.COM DON'T USE THEM! If you are on there be very careful!! I had an incident with a stalker and a woman who knows him. She emailed me. I don't know how she knows about me....MATCH COULD CARE LESS! Every time I ask, "am I safe?", they tell me they won't share any info. They told me to get an attorney if I want any info. or to press charges.
Pass this along to any single people, especially single women!

I’ve enjoyed the precious follicles for over a year but Alopecia is having it’s way again - and the shedding is relentless. As anyone who has experienced hair loss will testify the emotions attached…

Yes, there’s a lot of controversy out there about the kind of diet you should eat for weight loss. – Low carb, low fat or low calorie. One of the reasons low-carb and low-fat diets work is that cutting carbs and cutting fat ultimately cuts calories. Remember, a calorie deficit is needed for weight loss, and these diets work to reduce calories, pure and simple.
Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Pennington Biomedical Research Center put four popular diets --…
