Relationship Advertising: 10 Ideas For Preserving Purchaser's Happiness

You’ve probably heard the saying “It is easier to keep a current

buyer than to get a new one.”

Effectively, it is greater than just a saying, it’s true.

That’s why you want to take superb care of your current

purchasers or clients and do whatever you can to give them

many reasons to buy from you over and over again.

Who needs to continually be out there pounding the pavement

in search of new… Continue

Time to Review, Revise and Plan to Make it Happen!

The holidays are almost here. This year has gone by in a whirlwind. As I journal each day, I have been amazed at how quickly the numbers I write at the top of the page have changed. How could it be the end of November so quickly?

The truth is, with two teenage daughters, a reorganized…

DAILY GRATITUDE

Each day we awake to a world in which health, good fortune, justice, well-being and community exist side-by-side with illness, suffering, injustice, despair and isolation. While most of us will experience to

greater or lesser degree the whole panorama of life’s up’s and down’s, I

know that there are far too many people who know only illness,

suffering, injustice, despair and isolation. From my desk in Florida, I

need look no…

Holiday Planning Tips

With friends and family over for Thanksgiving dinner, you want your home to make a wonderful first impression as they walk in. Most hosts stress over the meal; however, there’s much more to Thanksgiving dinner

than the meal. Not only do you need to prepare the table, you need to

prepare your home.

Thanksgiving Recipes

Cornbread and Mushroom Stuffing

It’s really the side dishes that make Thanksgiving dinner so wonderful. Recipes like this one are one of the reasons why. Try this cornbread and mushroom stuffing using any combination of mushrooms you like. Using a combination of exotic mushrooms like shitake, oyster, portabello and cremini takes this recipe to new heights. Also see the recipes from last year’s… Continue

Relationship Tip of the Week: This Thanksgiving, make a list and check it twice

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the abundance in our lives – a time for gratitude. Yet, when people count their blessings, they tend to generalize – such as being grateful for a spouse or loved one, but not taking the time to reflect on all the specific reasons. This week, take the time to make a list of all of the things in your relationship for which you are grateful. Consider all the tangible and intangible gifts your relationship has brought into your life – from the little gestures,… Continue

What is a real man? Who are the real men? What is your definition?

Many women have their own concept of what defines a "real man". I believe that men also have their own idea of who the real men are as well. What is a real man to you? Who are the real men in your life? And where do you find these men? How often do you run into someone who fits your conception of a real man?

To me a real man knows who he is, does not need to prove anything yet strives to do his best, has a commitment to operating from integrity, maintains ethics, is not afraid to show or… Continue

EPILOGUE TO “MOTH AND BUTTERFLY”

“I have made a decision, and luckily, if I don’t like it, I can always change my mind, right? Right.” Right again. And again…..

If we are lucky and we work hard, we sometimes come to a place of self-acceptance, a time and place in life where we accept our bald selves, for a day, for a month, for months or years, and then, often, we

start all over again.

As a bald woman, I’ve learned that self-acceptance is neither stationary nor…

Five Months after a Keratin Treatment

Five months ago, I wrote a glorious review of the results of my first Keratin treatment – a treatment that miraculously seemed to eliminate the frizzies, producing a mass of silky smooth hair instead. Written six weeks after the treatment, I couldn’t be sure at the time that the treatment would last the five months Erin Dawson at Inspirations Salon predicted it would. Other salons had reported a duration of three to four months, but Erin was right on… Continue

Relationship Tip of the Week: Equality Reigns

Do you ever come across as knowing more or being better than your partner? Or perhaps you look up to him, giving him superiority to you? In healthy relationships, partners treat each other as if their value is equal. No one talks down to anyone else and no one looks up at anyone else. It is great to admire a partner’s qualities or achievements, but if you are looking up at someone, it doesn’t feel good because you are feeling inferior. It’s also painful to be the receiver when a partner (or… Continue

BEAUTY - FROM DARWIN TO DOLCE & GABBANA

“We need to be very clear about what being beautiful means - being sexually appealing to men.”

Trust me - the above are not my words. And yet, it is a thought that has often run through my mind, not as a statement, but a question. I don’t know the answer, but Amy Alkon is so sure she’s right about this

that she published that statement in the November 1 issue of Psychology

Today. Amy apparently takes…

This Week's Recipe: Perfect Salmon

Many people complain about either under or over-cooking salmon. Here's a surefire way I've found for perfectly cooked salmon. You may use whatever preparation you like. Here's one suggestion for a savory spice rub with a little sweetness to balance it at the end:

Mix:

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon Hungarian paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon ground…

Relationship Tip of the Week: Hope Springs Eternal

When hope is lost about a relationship getting better, the relationship slowly withers. Hopelessness is deadly to relationships. Yet when people have hope for their relationships, they tend to make efforts in the relationship and stand up for what they want. When people don’t give up easily, relationships tend to prosper.

If you find yourself feeling hopeless in your relationship, ask yourself what is causing you to lose hope. Perhaps the hopelessness has to do with something else… Continue

To find your mate, do this!

Go places you like and do things you like and see who is there that interests you. Think about or ask about what makes him/her smile? What or who grabs your attention? What conversation do you absolutely have to join with? Who dresses the way you appreciate? Carries themself with confidence? Seems open -they look at people through their eyes!

Maybe the first time you are in this person's presence you just observe. If there is a glance, you just smile. Be openly interested…

Why Loving the Mojo Pills Is Not Loving Ourselves

[Guest blogger, Michelle Young is the Research and Communications Director at 4Women.com. She has done extensive research on the emotional impacts of medical hair loss and women’s health issues.]

I need a name. Not a name for a puppy, a head scarf, or a blog post. I need a name for the deficit disorder of all deficit disorders.

I'm talking about this double X chromosome version human condition in which we prefer to experience life as an aesthetic vesicle, forever frozen in time… Continue
