Remember the quaint bedtime saying "sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite"? Well this is more than a saying; it can be a real nightmare!
Have you ever stayed in a hotel where itchy and prickly bed bugs attack you while you are trying to get a good night sleep. And this is not just the cheap hotels, in 2003, a businessman sued the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel in New York after he and a companion…

Are you happy with your health? Do you like the way you look? Chances are you skip meals and workouts because you are taking care of something or someone else. The average American workweek has increased to close to or over 50 hours per week, and I know you and I both probably work more than this some weeks. You would think with all the technology and access to information so quickly that our work life would be much easier. However, this quick access to emails and work projects has actually…

Next time you feel a little overwhelmed, grab your broom and give the kitchen floor a quick sweep.
Truth is you shouldn't dread housework. Bafflingly, studies show it actually has the power to cheer you up.
And, oh, by the way, chores count as exercise.
Dusting with a Smile
Chores and other forms of medium- to high-intensity activity may lift our emotions in a big way. And it doesn't take much of a time commitment to do the trick. A recent study…

We did a quick poll on Twitter to find out how many people dined and/or heard of Ray's. Although not totally scientific, it did confirm our hunch; Ray's is Sarasota's best kept gourmet dining secret. To read more of our review

With the slower econony it's time to be creative in how we spend. Yes "Thrift is Back in Vogue"
~~~Key point, we still have to spend or there is "No Economy".
~~~Which brings me to the second key point; "Do not borrow to spend".
~~~"Live with in your means".
Women are often disappointed in relationships because they don't get what they want. They mistakenly believe that men can read their mind or "should just know" their heart's desire. Often women will treat men in the way they want to be treated in the hopes of receiving reciprocal treatment. Then when it doesn't happen, they become resentful. I tell my clients that they have no reason to expect to get what they want unless they ask for it. It is not the reality you would choose, and it is…
Michelle Sampson, president of Gimme Shelter and WQ’s pet video host, did a knock-out job of planning the Pets in the City 2 event to benefit her pet adoption program. The Japanese theme gave a fun twist to the event. Geisha girls, Sumo wrestlers, and even a Japanese Palm Reader were part of the fun on hand.
The Oriental theme continued with the cuisine. Horse Feathers did a great job with the food (as they did with our WQ Meet and Eat Lunch) serving sushi, poached salmon and my…
I have heard that for most people to insure a financially healthy retirement you must have 7 different income sources. As a sales manager I have worked with Independent Reps for many years. In fact, I am one. The following article was released on June 12th by the Associated Press. For more information on becoming an Independent Avon Representative, please comment back or contact me at (941)284-4658. My website is…
Thank you everybody for all of your kind wishes, support, and prayers. All of the staff at the Venice Hospital were more than kind. They really really need to extend the coffe shop hours though. Caffeine is a whole food group in my little world especially at O-dark-thirty when I have to drive way out on River Rd (which I am convinced somehow goes through Idaho - it's sooo long) and then back up to Sarasota. My sister got through the surgery, but because of complications it was not successful…
Be authentic, totally honest, only promise what you can deliver. If you keep this in mind you will succeed because your clients will believe you and believe in you because you deliver. If you say or do something that you don't really believe in, everyone can tell! Your heart has to be in it.
Love and Peace,
Taguanut, also known as corozo nut, is the seed of the Phytelephas macrocarpa, a low South American palm. They are most abundant in the Amazon Basin of Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. Ivory-nut palms are dioecious, with the female palms bearing clusters of large, brown fruits, the size of grapefruits or melons. Each fruit is studded with numerous woody, pointed horns and contains four or more large seeds.
The ivory palm endosperm or “tagua” have a similar density and color of elephant…
When you feel inspired wonderful things happen. You have creative thoughts and activities, have more energy, feel happier, get things done, enjoy life more, and feel at ease. True inspiration comes from deep inside of you and it has no limits. So, is there a step by step process to take us from frustration or desperation into inspiration?
You may want to start by choosing to think about all the many things you have to be grateful for. Most people already have things like eyes to see,…
So, you want to lose that extra belly fat. Crunches will take care of it, right? Wrong! Remember, you can't spot reduce. All right, I guess there are some surgeons out there making a nice living doing just that, however, if you are looking for a long term fix without surgery, you will need to focus on 3 things.
1. DIET, DIET, DIET!
This doesn't mean go on a low-carb, high-fat, liquid, bark, rice cake, or noodle diet. Focus on changing your diet for good. You can't…
Importantly, allow me to state that I am not an attorney; I am an Administrator for the Attorney group. I have helped over 150 clients in saving over $14 million through "Debt Negotiation" programs. These clients all are becoming "unsecured debt-free" in anywhere from 18-60 months, with a payment level they can better afford. All interest and penalties are… Continue
A picture is worth a thousand words - or a life. My wonderful, effervecent, fabulous sister suffers an incurable disease called FMD. I won't try to explain the condition to everybody, but one of the symptems is horrific migraines that are completely debilitating and last for not just hours, but days. She has been fighting with her health insurance company for months for a life preserving surgery while her health deteriorates. Her…
Exercising is tough, and it can be intimidating. You’ve heard it before- if it were easy, everyone would be in phenomenal shape. But it’s not, so we work hard to improve our heart health, tighten our abs and walk with a little more confidence.
In order to accomplish this, sometimes you have to do things you are not very good at. Usually we steer clear of these exercises or activities. For example, most people hate lunges. Why? I don’t know… maybe it’s the constant burn of the quads.…
The state conference for the Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women was held June 11-14 at Key West. One of our guests of honor was Cindy Dick, Fire Chief of the Tallahassee Fire Department. What a remarkable woman she is!
It was an honor to meet Cindy, talk with her, and listen to her speech during which she talked about some of the challenges she encountered during her career. Anyone who thinks men and women are treated equally in the work place is mistaken. Cindy…
